Liberal MP implies lack of communications over oilsands spill might be a cover-up

Alberta – The president and CEO of the Alberta Energy Regulator was grilled Monday by members of Parliament over the agency’s failure to communicate information about tailings leaks that impacted communities downstream from Imperial Oil’s Kearl site. Liberal MP Patrick Weiler said the matter wasn’t simply a lack of communication in which nine months elapsed before information finally came to light. He implied it might also be a cover-up.
